Rising housing costs have become a critical barrier for post-secondary students, with many forced to choose between shelter and school expenses. For students from low-income households, these pressures can result in delayed graduation, increased debt, and even dropping out. University Apartments x Wester-Land offer a unique opportunity to close this gap through stable, predictable, and professionally managed housing.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This grant will fund 6 full-year rent scholarships at 1/2 price (12 months) for selected students living at Wester-Land. Recipients will benefit from:

  • Fully furnished, private units designed for student life
  • All-inclusive rents (utilities + WiFi) for peace of mind
  • Proximity to campus, reducing commuting time and cost
  • A built-in support community with security and on-site amenities

In partnership with local universities and student support services, applicants will be selected based on financial need, academic promise, and community involvement.

OUTCOME & IMPACT

  • Empower 6 students to focus fully on academics without the burden of housing insecurity
  • Enhance retention and graduation rates among vulnerable student populations
  • Model scalable student housing support solutions across the province
