Opening September 2025, WESTER-LAND’s three six-storey apartment buildings will contain 200 units and will house over 700 students. It will offer them both the convenience of living across the street from MUN’s campus and the independence that comes with living in you very own apartment. Our goal is to allow students to make the most of their experience at school, and to provide them the housing, tools, and resources to foster exploration, growth, and quality of life.
OUR UNITS
WESTER-LAND will offer 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom units. Each fully furnished unit comes with cozy and trendy furniture, a kitchen with brand new, stainless steel, energy efficient appliances (dishwasher, too!), and a study desk with chair in every bedroom.
WESTER-LAND contains 22 fully accessible units, to ensure we support a diverse and thriving community. These units have lower countertops and greater space in areas like bathrooms to facilitate a wheelchair. Exceptionally, they remain unfurnished in order to accommodate any and all specific needs or requirements you may have.
Sustainable Living
Our decision to fully furnish our units reflects our stance on sustainable living; by providing high-quality furniture, we all avoid an accumulation of pressed board pieces on the curb at the end of the lease term as students move out and move on. We hate seeing old furniture end up in landfills, so we do our best to reduce waste through our sustainability initiatives. This way the furniture is designed alongside the spaces themselves in harmony.
OUR COMMON SPACES
We know that being a student involves so much more than just going to class, and we understand the complexities and pressures of student life in this crucial time of self-actualization. That’s why we created amazing common spaces in WESTER-LAND to encourage discovery, mindfulness/relaxation, socializing, accessibility and play.
Our common spaces showcase the intentionality behind our pillars of community, inclusivity, and accessibility. By creating convenient in-building social spaces you can make the most of your time on campus and off!
General Common Room
Study, socialize, or unwind. This versatile area offers something for everyone. With its flexible layout featuring screens, shared gathering spots, and a games corner, students can effortlessly transition between activities.
Wellness Space
A sanctuary designed for ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation. Whether you’re practicing yoga, meditating, or simply taking a moment to breathe, this gender-neutral space is your retreat for peace and well-being.
OUR COLLABORATIONS
We care deeply about integrating WESTER-LAND into the local community in a way that aligns with and honours residents past, present and future.
This can be seen through our collaboration with and support of local professionals whose work we admire; we do this through our artistic partnerships, interior design roll outs, branding, and architecture.
